This exciting event explores the important role the innovative biopharmaceutical industry plays in the health and wealth of Australia.

PharmAus 2017 will bring together key parliamentarians, policy makers, leading government agencies and the pharmaceutical sector to discuss the latest trends, and future directions of this important industry.

The two-part format offers guests the opportunity to hear from industry leaders, while also having the opportunity to engage one-on-one with parliamentarians.

We will also be showcasing the dynamic and exciting industry through an educational showcase in the Great Hall.

The Policy Symposium, The Theatre (10:30am - 5:30pm)

Hosted by acclaimed MC Adam Spencer and featuring a Keynote presentation from Glenn Singleman, the PharmAus Policy Symposium will provide the innovative medicines industry with the opportunity to hear from leading policy decision makers in our ecosystem and help play a role in shaping policy of the future.

Australia’s leading biopharmaceutical companies will come together in the Great Hall of Parliament House to showcase how they bring innovation to patients and help take Australian medical science to the world.

Over 20 interactive and informative displays will highlight the partnerships with Australian patients universities research institutes biotechnology and manufacturing businesses to discover, research and develop breakthrough medicines and vaccines.

Meet with passionate Australians who help to bring Australian and global medical research to life.

  • engaging with government and government departments, the Australian Medicines Industry, consumer groups and health professionals to develop health and industry policy

  • building and maintaining relationships with government for fair reimbursement of medicines (through the Pharmaceuticals Benefits Scheme) to ensure the continuation of a viable medicines industry

  • administering the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct which sets the standard for the ethical marketing and promotion of prescription medicines

  • working with other health professional and consumer organisations on issues of mutual concern

  • providing specialist advice to member companies

  • educating the community about industry activities.
